Antenna Wire Winders Pricing is per Winder (1)

Video: Wirewinders from SOTABEAMS

I have spent years searching for the ideal way of winding up antenna wire for use in the field. These special winders are just about perfect! Lightweight and with an elastic fastener to secure the wire, they are quick and easy to use.

Wire winders ensure tangle-free aerials and rapid deployment - perfect! Great for SOTA, caravanning and DXpeditions!

Use a figure-of-eight winding technique which helps to ensure no kinks in the wire.

We recommend three winders for a dipole fed with RG174 (one for each half of the dipole and one for the co-ax and back guy). Two winders are usually adequate for a dipole fed with RG58 (cable coiled separately).

Each winder weighs 1.25 oz (36g). Length 24.5 cm (9.75 inches).

Recommended Accessory

If you are making antennas using our Wirewinders, consider investing in one of our rugged antenna bags - designed for use with Wirewinders.

No more tangled wires bought a few to try and will get some more. Easy deployment for portable antennas and just generally keeping wire untangled. also can be hooked onto a tent peg or around a tree very versatile. Highly recommended. Cliff VK2NP

    Absolute must

These have been well thought out and work exactly as shown. They make recovering guy lines or feeder a breeze and if you use the Figure of 8 method then no more loops and tangles.

Sometime the simplest way is the best way

Posted by Jan Timmers on 7th Nov 2015

Great winders. Period. I haven't had any experience with others, so I can't offer any comparison reviews, but these winders are the cat's ass. The wings (?) are large enough so that a substantial amount of wire can be wound before you run out of room. The small elastic is easy to stretch around the wire and clip onto the little plastic nipple, even with cold hands, and securely holds the wound product in place. But it doesn't stop there - unwinding the wire (or para-cord, etc) couldn't be a simpler chore - comes off smooth and tangle-free. Love these things.

Works as shown in the video

Look how many of these things you see in use in portable operations. There's a good reason. I suggest ordering a few more than you think you need as you will find more uses.

    Easy and efficient

They wind and unwind without twisting or kinking the wire. They are really lite and very sturdy. As the ARES EC for this area, and an avid QRPr, I keep man portable and vehicle portable HF rigs ready to go at all times. They make the deployment and stowing of wire antennas a breeze. These winders are now a major component of my field gear.
