The SOTABEAMS Blog is here!

This is the first post of our new blog so I thought that I would tell you a little about how the National Hamfest went for us.
On the Friday we had an early start, up at 04:45 and on the road by 05:30 for the 2 hour 15 mins drive to Newark. Once there Wee Wah (my wife) and I set up the stand before having a reviving cup of coffee.
Once the doors opened we were busy until the end of the day. Loads of people called in to say hello which was great! Sorry to those who called in but did not get to say hi but I was rather busy.
The new SB6 Ultra Portable 6m beam attracted a lot of attention - including from a competitor who remarked that it was far better than his product! Several customers left with their beams. Trev G3ZYY - an old friend from the past called in and has offered to review the six metre beam for the UK Six Metre Group. It looks to be a popular product.
Several customers spotted our new 2m beam prototype which we had at the back of the stand. This uses the same hub as the SB6 and will be available soon.
Our light weight telescopic Travel Masts were also very popular - indeed so much so that we had to restock for the Saturday. It seemed that once people saw the quality of the masts they wanted to buy one!
There were less people at the show on the Saturday which was good in that I had more time to chat. It was especially nice to meet Angel M0HDF, his wife and his little son Victor (who has been up 15 summits).
All said it was a successful, if rather tiring, two days. I hardly had any energy left on Sunday which is why I only cycled 75km, well short of my 150km target.
See you there next year!
