PowerPole® 4-Way Connector Box

Video: PowerPole 4-way

PowerPole® connectors are the best way to distribute DC in your shack or in the field. Once you start using them, the urge to convert all your DC distribution to them becomes inevitable. Our PowerPole® connector box is rated at 25 Amps. PowerPole® connectors are impossible to connect the wrong way round; reliable and easy to use.

The SOTABEAMS PowerPole® 4-way makes light work of connecting four things together. For example, four PowerPole® connectors allow you to connect a radio and amplifier to your battery while leaving one socket free for another accessory. Naturally we have designed the PP 4-Way to be light and rugged too.

Speaking of design, the PP 4-Way is rated at 25 Amps; no mean feat for a PCB design. To make sure the resistance is low, the PCB uses double weight (2oz) copper, ultrawide traces on both sides of the board, and plated through vias to ensure an even current distribution between each face of the board. This is a unit built to a high specification!

The PP 4-Way uses genuine Andersen PCB contacts too for lower contact resistance and improved reliability.

The PP 4-Way is available in three forms:

  • The PCB kit consists of: 1 x PCB, 8 x PCB contacts, 4 x red connector shells, 4 x black connector shells.
  • The PCB + enclosure kit adds an ABS box, laser-cut front panel and board mounting hardware.
  • Alternatively you can buy the PP 4-Way ready-built and tested.

Dont forget to order a bargain pack of connectors!

    Tidying up dc connections

Posted by Steve Down G3USE on 20th Dec 2018

In the past I have used dedicated PSU's with each transceiver using spade connectors. In my latest, smaller, shack I am using only one power source. This product is the ideal way to connect the 2 main multiband transceivers, covering 160-70 and another fm unit. Individual connections can be made or removed easily without affecting the others.

Steve Berry. Very good product. Easy to assemble and once I had replaced the solder tip on my iron simple to solder up.

    EXTRA "IN"!

    Posted by GW4XXF on 17th Mar 2018

Like several other reviewers I have added an input (30A PPs) to the end to give four outputs. I did the same to my Fuser 6. (45A PPs) A very simple modification to carry out to both models. Mine look as though they are the original design! Short lengths of 2.5mm wire (from T&E) soldered into conventional PP contacts and along the length of the tracks and a rectangular notch in the housing is all it takes. Makes an excellent product even more excellent!

    4 Way Connector Box

Posted by Chris Maxwell on 8th Dec 2017

A very useful accessory however, it would benefit from an "Input" pair of Power poles on the end using the right angle PCB connector pins and moulding retaining plates that are available from the importers.

    Portable use

Posted by Rachael M1AYG on 9th Sep 2017

Excellent little unit which I intend to use for power connection to my LiFePo4 battery during portable use. Easy build though what the little pack of 4 black rubber (feet?) are for I have no idea, as they don't have any sticky surface. One small addition I made was to drill a hole at one end and using a grommet thread through 30A red/black wires with Powerpole attached (aren't they brilliant?) for power input. This gives me 4 outlets. I'm thinking here of 2 radios, a CW unit.....leaving a spare just in case. Thanks Sotabeams.
