    WolfWave

Posted by Jakob Scherer on 18th Jul 2021

I have it now in operation for about 10 days. I unpacked it, read through the web site wolfwave.co.uk and plugged it into my headset cable. It works fantastic. I do mostly CW. It allows me to pick out the faintest signals and work QSOs I could never do without the WolfWave. I am a senior with decreasing hearing and a military grade tinnitus. I am happy with the device and I can recommend it to anyone. Yes, it is expensive, but yes, it is good value for the money.

Beats the Filtering of my 7300 for CW

Posted by Bill Alpert on 14th May 2020

I need all the help I can get when it comes to copying the code. As an aspiring CW operator, a crowded and noisy band can be impossible to navigate at times. The Wolfwave has opened up some new vistas while I operate from my noisy QTH. To my ear, this device does a better job than my IC-7300 at filtering adjacent signals or band noise. When properly set, the "CW Regeneration" feature is almost mind blowing. The morse decoder also works well. New features seem to be added on a regular basis and are simple to install. There is a novel "band stop" filtering feature which I have yet to explore. The regular bandpass filter is intuitive and simple to operate. I love the flexibility of being able to move the Wolfwave between my rig and my computer, where I often use it to copy from the Web SDRs across the world. My only (minor gripe) is that the controls and menu system are not the most intuitive or easy to operate. There is a bit of a learning curve to get the most out of the device. But all in all, kudos to the Sotabeams team for a novel and and powerful new tool.

NEED BIGGER SCREEN AND MORSE DECODE NOT VERY GOOD. [Admin: thank you for your feedback. I am pleased that in general it works well for you. It sounds like you may have some settings wrong for the Morse Decoder. Please get back to us if you need any help.]

The Wolfwave unit has made a big difference to all of my radios but especially to my home brew equipment. All the filtering, noise reduction and bandwidth, band stop etc work very well. I mostly use CW where the CW reader has been very useful when receiving fast CW, (above the speed that I can read!!. It’s better than my KX2 at reading CW). The screen is very clear but a little small. The help button is very useful but a hard copy of the help notes would have been good. Early days, but so far it works very well.

    Wolfwave advanced audio processor

Posted by Richard on 19th Sep 2019

Excellent device that works much better than the built in factory fitted DSP noise cancelling on my rig. It has transformed a 30+ year old HF rig to such a degree it's now in daily use and my 4 year old radio gets little use. CW decoding function also works very well. I can't recommend this enough.

    Wolfwave

Posted by Steve Ayers (KE5ES) on 19th Jul 2019

WOW!!! I watched the video and thought "Hey I want that!". After getting it and learning how to set it I realized that this little device is amazing. I could have bought a internal filter for my FT-817 but I use this device on both the 817 and my LNR Mountian Topper 3B. With the LNR it amplifies the audio and takes the (I can't mimic the sound with typed words) out. It is so fun to dial it down to that ONE signal and ignore all the others until after the QSO. Get your's now while products last!!! This is not a paid endorsement. LOL!! The product is just that great!!!!!

I have used the Timewave DSP 599zx for sometime and I replaced it with the Wolfwave. I find this filter much better than the Timewave. There is no ringing and is easy to use the menus. The CW reader is very good but cannot compare it except to my ears and it is reasonable correct, which I am impressed with. I must admit I think this filter is a winner and very much cheaper than the Timewave one which has to be purchases from the states.
